A Declaration and A Manifesto

This blog is one small step for mankind and a giant leap for men. It is both a declaration of independence and a constitution for a new social government. This blog is as idealistic as a Romantic poet yet it is also as practical as a roll of duct tape. It is the hottest in the office, and it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

One day three gentleman scholars decided to combine their powers and form a pro-environment crime-fighting superhero, but when that didn't work and they realized that they have no actual superpowers to speak of, they decided to combine their minds and create another blog completely indistinquishable from the other millions of blogs littering the information superhighway.

But this blog was to be unique! For it would contain the observations and ruminations of these three gentlemen scholars concerning everyone's favorite topic: relationships. With their varied experience and personalities, the illustrious three were ready to enlighten the world and expand minds in this post-feminist and post-modern world of reality tv, text messaging, and microwaveable pot pies. Perhaps they merely wanted a venue where they could speak and be heard, share failure and success alike, and wallow in sorrow and exult in joy. Of course, they really just want to talk about women.

Some might claim that chivalry is dead. We, the three gentlemen scholars, believe it is still alive---but it has transformed. It is not the chivalry of the past, and it is not the chivalry of the future (for who can say what that might entail?). Chivalry is not necessarily found opening doors or spreading coats across puddles, but it is out there, somewhere. Maybe we will somehow realize the new definition of chivalry in our time, but maybe we will chase it endlessly and never reach any conclusions whatsoever. What is important is that we are pursuing truth and accepting it in any form and in any place it may be. We hope to show, in this blog, that while chivalry may no longer appear as it once did, it still permeates our lives and envelops us like a warm summer breeze. For truly, we are all Chilvary in the Wind.

And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
